Have you ever had a treatment with cryotherapy?

Hello, I need some information on this type of treatment. I'm going to have cryotherapy on the cervix and I would like to have some personal experiences. Does it hurt? Do I have to take some medications before hand?

I just had cervical cryotherapy done a couple of days ago. I would strongly recommend taking some sort of pain killer a half hour to hour before. Most women experience slight cramping. My gyno told me it wouldn't hurt at all. I had the worst cramping I have ever had in my life. I couldn't stand up straight, I started to feel like I had a fever and really nauseous. You might want to give yourself an hour or two before returning to work or school, if you have that afterward. I would wear a pad to the gyno, because as soon as they do it you start to have a lot of discharge. It's clear and has a slight odor. Your gyno should tell you this, but you can't have sex, swim or use tampons or douche for 2 to 4 weeks. I hope this helped and good luck.

I had it doen years ago. It was the longest 2 minutes of my life. Very uncomfortable but not super painful. I can't remember if the doctor gave me anything for the pain before hand. I did cry a little and the nurse held my hand, BUT I'm a cry-baby about those things.

Just had cryotherapy and am not supposed to use tampons - can I use a yeast infection treatment w/ insertion?

I was wondering, I just had cryotherapy 5 days ago and I'm not supposed to use tampons or have intercourse, but I think i'm developing a yeast infection. Can I use a treatment for yeast infections that require insertion of a "syringe" type thing that inserts the yeast infection cream into the vagina? Or should I get something else?

My guess would be "no". There is a great prescription medication (in pill form....yea!) called Diflucan which treats yeast infections very effectively and very quickly. The dosage is usually 1 pill once a day for 2 days. Ask your doctor for a prescription.
Best of luck.

I don't think they want you putting ANYTHING in there due to infection risk. Call your doc and ask what to use; be sure to remind him/her that you jsut had the cryotherapy.

I had cryotherapy years ago. You don't just go in and have this done, they run all kinds of tests first. Seems to me that if you have a yeast infection, the doctor would know this and prescribe something for you. Don't add insult to injury. They told you not to insert anything and you do not want to do that. You could irritate the area and end up right back where you started or worse. Call the doctor and ask them about it. They can check you out and take care of it. Don't self-medicate. You could be asking for more trouble.

cryotherapy treatment of the cervix?

just had it done about 10 days ago... i am feeling some minor abdominal pain (around the ovaries and fallopian tubes) i dont know if this is related to the treatment. iw as having this pain before but it seems like it has increased. im due for a sonagram in two months to make sure everything is ok down there... i also have this pain when i have my period... it feels like cramping or scraping INSIDE my vaginal walls not my lower back. any idea what this is from?????

I had cryotherapy to my cervix in 2005 and had a great deal of pain afterward. Yes, some of this pain you are noticing could be related to the cryotherapy.

As for the pain with your periods and feeling like cramping or scraping inside of the vaginal walls this could also be an indication of a problem with endometriosis (an example only).

I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to have them evaluate the situation further.
