Cryoablation?

Has anyone had, or know anything about, or know where I can get info regarding cryoablation?

cryoblation is when they freeze off warts, etc wth liquid nitrogen. it's painless with hardly no scarring.

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after uterine cryoablation?

I had a cryoablation 3 yrs ago on my uterus and am wanting to try pregnancy. I have read that it's highly likely to even get pregnant after have this surgery and that the complications are high. Wanting to know if this is something i should try and if anyone has had any success conceiving and haveing healthy babies?

After an ablation one must not become pregnant again. It's dangerous. Besides, after an ablation one has a permanent form of birth control implemented. I had one done back in 12/04, and had the Essure procedure done so that I will never become pregnant again. Essure is not invasive like a tubal ligation is, no cutting is involved, it's all done via hysteroscope, just as the ablation is.

It's dangerous... higher chance of ectopic pregnancies... and complications.

Sorry, you cannot bear children after an ablation.

Cryoablation (freezing) of breast fibroadenoma?

Does anyone know anything about cryoablation in treating breast fibroadenoma's? Anyone had it done & does it work? Is it safe?

I had considered it at one point. I think that it is a very good and safe proceedure to have for fibroadenomas. The fibroadenomas are benign and since that is the case, they can be safely frozen and then desentegrated without the scars of regular surgery.
Here's some information...The most common application of cryoablation is to ablate solid tumors found in the lung, liver, breast, kidney and prostate gland. The use in prostate and renal cryoablation are the most common. Although sometimes applied through laparoscopic or open surgical approaches, most often cryoablation is performed percutaneously (through the skin and into the target tissue containing the tumor.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryoablatio n

The Visica procedure uses cold therapy (cryoablation) to destroy the fibroadenoma through an incision so small that it only needs a small adhesive bandage and no stitches afterward.http://www.breast-center.com/tbc-treatme nts.htm

I would think this was the best way to go as a woman if I needed to do it this way without scarring and overnight hospital stay I would.

Interventional Cryoablation Stops Cancer Cold

New treatment for patients with small and localized kidney cancer Imagine finding out that you have kidney cancer and that you’ll need 6 hours of surgery with up to 2 months recovery to remove the tumor. And, then, shortly before your scheduled surgery, you learn from a friend or the internet that you can be cured with a 90 minute out-patient procedure. That’s what happened to this man. Alan Jacobs learned about a treatment performed by interventional radiologists. Interventional cryoablation is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure that is relatively painless. Using imaging to pinpoint the tumor, an interventional radiologist guides a probe through the skin to the tumor and then releases gas to freeze it. The freezing process kills the tumor. Patients leave the hospital with only a band-aid and return to normal activity almost immediately. Interventional Radiologists are physicians who specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments that offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time compared to open surgery. Until now, the only option for patients with kidney cancer was several hours of surgery, a week in the hospital and 4 to 6 weeks of recovery. Patients not eligible for surgery or those with small tumors that have not spread beyond the kidney, now have another option. People who are too sick for surgery, can’t have general anesthesia, have borderline kidney function, only one kidney or multiple recurring tumors had no option till now. Interventional
