Just straight invitro is generally $12,000. This can be a little more or less depending on certain tests you may or may not need. Medicare does not cover it, and very few insurances will cover any of it. My insurance only covered the medications nothing else.

I imagine the costs vary somewhat depending on where you live & what Dr./clinic/facility you use. We went through IVF (in Las Vegas) last year. We paid for 3 attempts up-front with a partial money-back guarantee. It cost $15k plus the cost of meds which were about $500/cycle.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) Cost?

I've got an appointment with my husband this Thursday to possible discuss having an IVF done. I have heard having IVF done is extremely expensive and most insurance companies do not cover the procedure. I heard a co-worker of mine who having it done but is going to Columbia and paying out of pocket for the procedure.
So far I've heard it can cost upwards of 10,000.00 dollars!
Before I find out myself this Thursday I just want to prepare myself for this. Has anyone done this before and Was it this pricey? Did your insurance help you at all?
I KNOW costs vary, etc. I don't expect to get an exact answer, I'm just looking for some figures and experience.
Currently ONLY 15 states in the US mandate some sort of fertility coverage and not all of them cover IVF - where do you live? I am in Massachusetts and our diagnosis was unexplained infertility - which meant trying for over a year without success. We also had to go through 3 cycles of IUI with Clomid and 3 with injectibles before IVF . . . but as we followed the steps, our insurance did cover everything but the co-pays.
Without insurance coverage at the same clinic that I went to, it cost a friend $16,000 for IVF - all treatments, appointments, monitoring and medication. She had to pay out of pocket because she had her tubes tied so insurance would not cover it as "infertility".
I recommend that you contact Fertility Life lines - they have a free hotline that you can call and have someone help you to better understand your coverage and to do an analysis for you. Perhaps you can get your prescriptions covered or something like that with your current coverage. They were great - gave them my policy info and they researched it, got me all of the info on what was and was not covered and explained it to me. They also have information on prescription programs and shared risk programs.

If you cannot find insurance coverage and it comes down to IVF here are some other suggestions:
1) Start with the RE - most doctors have a team that can help you with finding ways to pay for your treatment - they are amazing at figuring out your insurance benefits, coming up payment plans and may even be able to recommend medical studies / clinical trials that you may be able to participate in.
2) Grants -there are groups out there that fund raise for fertility treatments - you need to apply and cross your fingers.
3) Loans - banks and credit card companies (my friend used Capital One but I am not sure if they still have it as this was a few years ago) offer fertility loans with fair interest rates and payment plans. Maybe see if you can borrow from a family member.
4) Serious budgeting - I also know couples who have taken part time / seasonal jobs to save up for treatments, sold things on ebay etc . . .
5) See if your employer as a flex spending account - you can set aside money tax free for medical things - everything from IVF to prescriptions to eye glasses etc . . .every little bit helps!

They average $10,000-12,000. Some insurance companies will help but not many. You can always call them and find out what type of coverage you have. I actually did a drug trial for the one and only IVF cycle I had and it only cost me about $1200 for all the testing I needed to qualify for the trial. So you may want to see if the Dr your seeing knows of any trials to help reduce costs. A lot of them offer financing to help pay for treatment. Good luck!!

It depends on where you live and where you go, but I've heard anywhere from 10-15 thousand per try. However, I've also heard of places that will charge 25,000 but that's for 6 tries, and some places won't charge you anything if it doesn't work. You need to research it to find what is best for you financially.
