Ok, I donated sperm with Fairfax Cryobank in College Station Texas in 1994/95. How can I find my Donor ID #?

LOL I was just curious how to find out my donor ID # from Fairfax Cryobank. I've been told that it is possible. When I donated I wanted to leave contact information so that if any potential offspring ever wanted to contact me it would be possible. They wouldn't let me. Now the say that I donated anonymously. Anyone have any ideas?

Tough one. If they won't let you add your info to their system, you might have to simply make it REALLY easy for anyone who wanted to find you to do so. I'd suggest making it the simplest Google in the world, by making a cheap (or maybe free) single page website with just enough info for them to find you. Just bear in mind that you should NOT put your name or regular e-mail address in there, or you'll also pop up when future employees Google you before offering you a job :)

Just curious as to why you would want to know? Are you wanting your sperm to be withdrawn from the bank (as in not have them use it)? Or are you wanting to play some kind of role in the kid's life?

Experiences with Fairfax Cryobank?

Have any of you worked with Fairfax Cryobank to get pregnant? What was your experience like?

I personally have no experience with them but a friend of mine does and she had a very good experience with them. They were helpful and friendly and being able to do everything on the web made the process much easier and more discreet.

Which one is a better sperm bank?

I'm looking for a sperm bank. After some research, I've focused on Fairfax Cryobank and California Cryobank.

Since I am unable to get enough info about the sperm donors (they are all anonymous and with no photos), I would appreciate it if anyone can share their experience with either bank - the quality of donors and service. Thanks!

Actually, their prices are only going up $35 to $55 and they do this every single January, FYI.

We're using CCB, no complaints so far. I suggest going to the forum on their website, because people trade donor photos, baby photos and donor info for free! Otherwise, you have to pay for some of it.

When you sign up for a free account with CCB you can read the staff impressions, short profile, etc. They also do baby look-a-likes so you can see some celebrities that look similar. It's pretty a reliable comparison (in my experience).

Open-Identity Sperm Donors | - Fairfax Cryobank

Open-Identity sperm donors, sometimes called “Identity Release” or simply “Open” donors, are sperm donors who agree to be contacted by offspring who were conceived with their samples. Usually this is after the offspring reach the age of 18.

Most sperm banks have programs for open-identity donors, and these programs vary between the banks. Therefore, it is important to research the programs at different sperm banks before making a decision about where to purchase your donor sperm, if you are looking for an open-identity donor.

Fairfax Cryobank offers open-identity donors, and we call them ID Option donors. Our ID Option donors have a signed contract with us that they agree to have identifying information shared with the offspring when the offspring reaches the age of 18.

Some other sperm banks say that they have open-identity donors but may either make the sharing of information voluntary on the part of the donor when the time comes, or they will mediate the interaction between the donor and offspring to protect the donor’s identity. Offspring could call one of these other sperm banks at the age of 18 and not receive the donor’s name and/or contact information.

Fairfax Cryobank WILL provide the information to the offspring of our ID Option donors.
